Samui's temples are some of the most visually spectacular in Thailand and a brilliant introduction to Thai culture for children. The Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) is a must, a massive golden statue on a tiny island connected by a causeway. Other highlights include Wat Plai Laem with its colourful multi-armed goddess statue surrounded by fish-filled ponds. Kids love feeding the fish and exploring the ornate buildings.
